Hi, my name is Viktor

I’m a Dutch type designer with a background in graphic design (Amsterdam) and BFA degree (ArtEZ Arnhem). What started with an obsession for hand lettering and calligraphy turned into a full-time focus on type design. I don’t just make fonts, I teach others how to do it well.

What you’ll find here

Type Design Class is where you learn to design fonts properly. Everything is straight to the point. No fluff, no romantic rambling about creativity. Just solid teaching that gets you from nothing to a working, well-built font.

The courses cover everything from building your first typeface to refining true italics or designing script fonts. You’ll get practical, sharp instruction on the things that actually matter.

Why I do what I do

Viktor Baltus

There’s a lot of vague or overly theoretical teaching out there. That’s not what I do. My goal is to make type design understandable and achievable, without dumbing it down.

This platform is built for designers who want to improve their skills, produce better work, and understand why good type matters. It’s for people who are serious, curious, and ready to put in the work.

How I teach

Visual examples that make sense

Clear structure

No unnecessary theory

Direct feedback (yes, you can ask questions)

I believe anyone can learn to design type, if they’re shown how in the right way.

So if you’re looking to stop guessing and actually learn how typefaces are made, you’re in the right place.

Let’s get to work.
